The Islamic regime of Iran executed three more young protesters on Friday,despite massiveprotests in Iran and internationally to save their lives. The executions come in the wake of the killingon May 6^th of abducted dual Swedish-Iranian national Habib Asivad (Chaab), of bloggers YousefMehrdadand Sadrollah Fazeli Zarehon May 8^th for “insulting Islam” and of tens of other political prisoners over the past several weeks.

Majid Kazemi, Saleh Mirhashemi and Saeed Yaghoobi were executed on trumped up charges, on the basis of confessions extracted by torture.

Murdering captive, defenceless protesters is now the only means left in the armoury of this vile regime to try to save itself from inevitable downfall in the face of the will of the people and their revolution.

Following the news of the executions, angrywomen and youth in Iran defiantly poured onto to the streets in the cities across Iran chanting “Death to murderer Khamenei”, “Death to a regime that kills young people”, “Death to the Islamic Republic”. The protests are growing. People are saying, no degree of savagery of the regime will stop their fight for freedom and that only their anger and their resolve to overthrow this hated regime will be strengthened.

At the international level, the US and the EUand many other governments have condemned the cold-blooded murder of these young men and called for a halt to executions in Iran. The murderous regime is more isolated and despised than ever before.

However, condemnations alone are not enough.Only concrete, effective action can stop this killing machine from taking more innocent young lives.Negotiations with this regime must stop, all political and diplomatic ties with it must be severed, its embassies must be shut downand its representatives must be thrown out of world bodies.

This regime is not the representative of the people of Iran, it is their killer. And just like the racist apartheid regime in South Africa in the 1980s and 1990s, it must face a total boycott and banishment globally.

We extend our deepest condolences to the families of Majid Kazemi, Saleh Mirhashemi and Saeed Yaghoubi. We honour their memories by stepping up the fight for the overthrow of the regime in Iran and for its boycott and isolation globally.
