RE: The Committee to Fight Coronavirus outbreak in Iran
Dear Mr. Borrell,
Recently, the European Union declared that it would donate funds of 20 Million Euros towards the Coronavirus crisis in Iran. During a press Conference in Brussels, you rightly mentioned that food, medicines and medical equipment should not be affected by the international sanctions against the Iranian regime.
It is important to note that the main problem for the Iranian people is, in fact, the Islamic government of Iran. The regime initially concealed the existence of coronavirus. It still refuses to quarantine the country, saying the situation is under control and improving, though many Iranians are still dying because of the pandemic. Also, the public will not gain access to international support due the fact that the Iranian regime sells humanitarian assistance or distributes any monetary aid to support Islamic terrorist groups in Lebanon, Syria, Iraq, etc.
The Committee to Fight Coronavirus outbreak in Iran is working to help the Iranian people overcome the crisis and calls on the EU to supervise and monitor the actual distribution of international humanitarian assistance to ensure it reaches doctors and nurses. Our campaign has widespread connections with doctors and nurses inside the country and can link you with them so you can provide support directly to those in need. We also ask that you ask the World Health Organisation to
supervise and act directly on this issue rather than through the government.
An open letter signed by over 2100 Iranians calling on international organisations to oversee support to alleviate the suffering of the Iranian people is attached.
It would be very helpful if we could have a video conference with you regarding the current crisis in Iran and the solutions that can be offered in order to overcome the pandemic in Iran.
Sincerely,
Mina Ahadi, The Committee to Fight Coronavirus outbreak in Iran
