The shooting down of the Ukrainian passenger plane flight PS752 on January 8, 2020, was one of the most monstrous and inhuman crimes committed by the Islamic regime of Iran. This horrific crime, which led to the death of 176 passengers and crew, will never be forgotten, neither in Iran nor around the world. It was an enormous historical crime, an unprecedented assault on innocent human beings that was planned at the highest levels of the Iranian government and executed by the Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps (IRGC) commanders. They claimed they were taking revenge on the USA for the killing of their hated, terrorist general, Ghasem Soleimani, but as usual, they took revenge on innocent people. The highest officials and commanders of the IRGC sat down and decided not to take responsibility for this vile act, but their idiotic calculations quickly unravelled, their coverup was exposed and after three days they were forced to confess to the crime.
Over the past four years, the families of the victims of this flight have never sat down quietly and have protested in various ways, demanding that the perpetrators be named and brought to justice. Internationally, they took the case to the Ontario Superior Court of Justice. Tribunals were convened by other activists to investigate the crimes of the Iranian regime. In September 2022 a great revolution started to put an end to the rule of the Islamic murderers for good. The families of hundreds of other victims of the Islamic Republic joined the movement for justice for their loved ones. Today, a powerful movement for justice has taken shape against those who ordered and those who carried out the PS752 massacre, for the killing of over 500 protesters in the course of the Woman Life Freedom revolution and the massacre of thousands of others over the years by the Islamic regime. The central demand of this movement is the global prosecution of the leaders and officials of the Islamic regime for their crimes against humanity.
On the fourth anniversary of this horrific crime, we will come out everywhere to declare that we will overthrow this murderous regime and bring its leaders to justice. We call on the people of the world to support the struggle of the Iranian people and join the call for a global boycott of the Islamic regime, just as the world once did with the Apartheid regime.
We call on the Iranian community abroad to actively take part in the protests and events organised by the Association of Families of Flight PS752 for January 7th and January 8th. We call on all justice-seeking families, political activists, labour, student and women’s organisations, teachers, artists and sports personalities and all those who stand opposed to this criminal regime to support this call in every way they can.
